For decades, under its many names and formulations, Basic Income has been promoted by a diverse set of charities, faith groups, indigenous organizations, political parties, advocacy groups and social service providers.
Despite ever-mounting evidence of its effectiveness and the fact that a sizeable majority of Canadians support Basic Income, little action has been taken by our political parties. As a result, a large coalition of organizations and individuals have joined forces under the banner #BasicIncomeNow.
This campaign was designed to amplify the many diverse voices who are pushing for a national Basic Income, with the aim of making them impossible to ignore. Together, we hope to empower voters with the knowledge and tools to demand action on this issue.
